Recommendations are based on the American Academy of Pediatrics' published media guidelines (most recently updated 2024). The AAP's position has shifted from earlier blanket time-cap advice toward an emphasis on content quality and parent co-viewing: 30 minutes of co-watched, age-appropriate educational content is fundamentally different from 30 minutes of passive autoplay.
